Here on Bleach: Legacy we use a very simple rank system to determine the strength of a character. We use a LETTERED system ranging from A to D, A being the strongest, and D the weakest. In addition to these letters we will have a NUMBERED sub rank, ranging from 1-5. 5 being the weakest, and 1 the strongest of that tier. (While advancing it is possible to skip a number, but never a letter). Alrighty, below will be a brief explanation of each rank.
A+: The strongest of strong, A+ is the pinnacle of power, God Like status unrivaled by any other being except the Spirit King himself. There is nothing you cannot do, you've perfected every mastery, ability, and power in your arsenal. A flick of the wrist will obliterate your opponents. This rank is currently LOCKED and UNOBTAINABLE.
A-1: The strongest of the A rank, you've perfected bankai, kidou, and every mastery available to you, there is no one that stands above you at this point. A role model to your allies, and a nightmare to your enemies. Difficulty: VERY HARD.
A-2: You're strong. Very strong. There aren't many who can reach this rank, be proud of yourself for making it this far. Difficulty: VERY HARD.
A-3: You're nearing the pinnacle of power, strong enough to destroy most of your opponents with ease, though there are some that stand above you. Difficulty: VERY HARD.
A-4: You're still fairly new to the A rank but you're among the strongest in the world. There are few who stand above you but you can hold your own on the battlefield with ease. Difficulty: VERY HARD.
A-5: The rookie of the A class, you're fresh to the tier and while amongst the strongest, you pale in comparison to those above you. Fighting them would be unwise, though you can hold your own, the outcome would most likely be your death. Difficulty: VERY HARD.
B-1: You're getting closer to becoming one of the strongest in existence, however there is still a tier that stands above you and facing them would pretty much be suicide. Difficulty: Hard.
B-2: One step closer to reaching that A tier, you're closing in on those that stand above you, still, there's still a bit of work left for you to do. Difficulty: Hard.
B-3: So you're not exactly weak, but definitely not even close to those in the A bracket. While you can hold your own against a Captain and maybe a few of the Espada's you're no match for the stronger, high ranking opponents. Difficulty: Hard.
B-4: You're on the lower end of the B rank and while there's only a few above you that can handle you with ease, you're not to be taken lightly, either. Fresh to the Captain bracket. Difficulty: Hard.
B-5: You're the weakest of the B rank, perhaps even a new Captain or Espada but still there's only a handful of people who outrank you now. You're well on your way to becoming one of the strongest. Difficulty: Hard.
C-1: Congrats, you're the strongest of the C rank, and close to becoming a Captain class. At this point you've surpassed the basic lieutenant or fraccion and should not be taken lightly. There are many that stand above you but you shouldn't let that intimidate you. Difficulty: Medium.
C-2: You've surpassed most of the lieutenant and fraccion class now, and are well on your way to reaching a Captain but you still have a bit of work ahead of you. Still, you're one hell of a fighter and set a good example for those below you. Difficulty: Medium.
C-3: You're new to the lieutenant and fraccion class, while not exactly weak you shouldn't boast too much about your power, either. You still have an extensive amount of work ahead of you to become the strongest of the strong but don't let that deter you. Work hard and you'll advance in no time. Difficulty: Medium.
C-4: Pretty new this bracket you've probably trained quite a bit, but you still have a ways to go. You're slowly growing in strength and it will definitely show but taking on those above you would be ill-advised. Difficulty: Medium.
C-5: Congrats, you've reached C rank and have gained the respect of your subordinates. Still, you've got a ways to go before you can boast about your power too much. Difficulty: Medium.
D-1: Well you're either a fresh Shinigami straight out of the academy, or a human on the stronger end of the scale. Still you're in the weakest tier and those that stand above you would have no problem knocking you out of the way. Keep training hard! Difficulty: Easy.
D-2: You're pretty close to being the strongest of the D tier but when compared to the others, you're still pretty weak. A Shinigami still in the academy or a human who has some fighting experience and training but nothing extensive. Keep fighting the good fight. Difficulty: Easy.
D-3: Well, you're halfway through the D tier now, you may have some fighting experience or trained physically to get where you're at but you still have quite a ways to go. As a human, you're able to make out spirits fairly clearly, but some features may still remain hidden from you. Difficulty: Very Easy.
D-4: Low to no experience in any form of combat, you're either a regular plus soul, or a human who hasn't really practiced anything physical. You can make out the shapes of spirits but most of the features will remain hidden to you. Difficulty: Very Easy.
D-5: You have zero experience in any form of combat as both a plus soul and human, you can't even make out spirits and live your life oblivious to those around you. Difficulty: Super Easy.
In addition to these ranks, we have a basic 'power gap' system. Essentially what this means is that for every rank you have on a person, you have a 2x buff. For example, if you're A-2, and your opponent is A-3, you are 2x stronger in speed and strength. The more ranks you have on the person, 2,4,6,8, and so on.
