Division Duties

Below you'll find what each Division is responsible for. Keep this in mind when making your character!

1st Division

The First Division is in charge of overseeing the academy and its students, this involves providing the proper instructors and teachers, as well as watching for accelerated students. They provide training and education in all the Shinigami arts and prepare them for their responsibilities in their divisions. They are also in charge of placing the students in the fitting division.

2nd Division

The Second Division is primarily utilized for special operations that require stealth and subtlety. They are known for their Hakuda and Shunpo skills, and abilities to eliminate a target without being seen or spotted. However they do have a minor role in the prison, due to their unique skills they are usually used as additional escorts and prison guards.

3rd Division

The Third Division has been tasked with finding suitable recruits within the Rukongai to bolster the Gotei ranks. They are sent to every district to scout for those high in spiritual power and who have the ability to learn how to fight and protect their world. They maintain logs of every recruit, and upon graduation they update their files showing their statistics and information.

4th Division

The Fourth Division is responsible for providing medical relief to the members of the Gotei 13. Not only do they provide service in their medical bay, but they are often dispatched as Emergency Medical Services, tending to injuries on the battlefield using a combination of healing kidou, and basic first aid supplies.

5th Division

The Fifth Division has been dubbed the 'intervention unit', their primary responsibility is to monitor the activity between worlds. Any on duty Shinigami are given a special badge that allows them to occupy the space between Soul Society and the other worlds, effectively allowing them to potentially intervene before an attack can happen. There are only two Shinigami in this 'space' at any given, and the badge is equipped with a special emergency function should a full out assault occur, it will immediately bring them back to the Soul Society.

6th Division

The Sixth Division is responsible for extraction. Should a member of the Gotei become kidnapped or trapped somewhere and unable to return, the Sixth is sent in to extract them and and safely return them to the Soul Society. This also applies to those who stay over their time limit in the human world.

7th Division

The Seventh Division is the counter Hollow unit, they are specialists in combating the creatures and disposing of them. In times of war they act as an intelligence unit and are responsible for providing the other Divisions with proper strategies and tactics in order to eliminate the threat. When it comes to Hollow, this unit is the most knowledgeable.

8th Division

The Eighth Division is the internal affairs unit, should there be any issue or law breaking within the units themselves, such as the policing or special ops division, these Shinigami are tasked with investigating and interrogating them. They are taught how to separate lie from truth. They are often accompanied by the policing unit.

9th Division

The Ninth Division has been given the duties of Policing the Seireitei. They are primarily responsible for enforcing the rules of the Gotei, and monitoring activity. This also includes any Hollow attacks or invasions.

10th Division

The Tenth Division is responsible for all human world affairs. This means they are to monitor every section of the human world that have high activity of Hollow attacks, log the data, make reports, and give the information to the proper Division. If there is an ongoing and active attack, they are to immediately report it and dispatch the appropriate Division.

11th Division

The Eleventh is akin to a military force, as a direct-combat squad they are usually deployed as the first line of defense for attacks or invasions from the enemy. They specialize in Zanpakuto combat and do not use kidou.

12th Division

The Twelfth Division is in charge of the research and development and have been tasked with researching and inventing new technology to further aid the Shinigami in their defense against the Hollow. High risk experimentation must first be approved by the other Captain's in a majority vote.

13th Division

The Thirteenth Division has been tasked with overseeing Karakura town due to its high spiritual reading, and thus any Shinigami there is under their authority. They are the go-to squad regarding any information on that specific town, including information on previous Hollows, types, and attacks.

Kidou Corps

The Kidou Corps are strictly responsible for the development of new Kidou, and furthering the education of those gifted in the Kidou arts.
